                                                            HOW I REVERSED MS NATURALLY

My name is Colleen Bury

I'm a truck driver by trade.  I drove trucks (Tractor-Trailer) since Nov 1984. I was 19 at the time. I lived in NJ.

When turned 21, I worked for Exxon Hauling gasoline. My husband Louis, who is an owner/operator, worked for Hess hauling heating oil and gasoline. My daughter Shana was born in Dec 1989. I went back to work for a year after maternity leave but it became a little rough since I didn't have anyone to watch my daughter while I slept during the day (I worked nights at that time) while my husband was at work, so I had to quit.

Then in July of 1992 my son Brian was born. Our house became a little small, so we tried to find one big enough that we could afford in NJ, but it was too pricey. Instead, we moved to SC where we found a large 4-bedroom Mobile home in our price range.

We had our struggles of hard times when we first moved down to SC. We couldn't sell our home in NJ so we had to rent it out. I had a singlewide trailer in the Pocono's of PA. That was already being rented out too.

We were told our home in SC was ready to move in and to come down. So we left, and when we got there, we had a rude awakening. The house was not ready at all. So here we are with 2 very small children, one was 3, the other was 6 month's old, and here we are homeless. All of our money we saved from selling our furniture and other belongings, we lost by living in a motel for a few weeks and living in our car and truck waiting for our house to be ready.

When the house was finally ready (on Friday) in the cold winter month of February 1993 we had no heat. The electric company didn't want to come out till Monday so we had to pay an extra $300 for them to come out on Saturday.

Thank GOD for the fireplace because thats what kept us warm that night.

That year in 1993 my husband had to sell his tractor-trailer to keep us a float.

The first couple of years we tough but we survived.

In 1995 my husband Louis bought his first new Mack dump truck. That was the start of our dump trucking business.

In 1996 my husband Louis bought another truck, but this one was a used 1986 twin stick Mack dump truck he liked.

In 1997 he bought a 2nd new Mack for me to drive. I wanted to go back to work driving again.

Even though we have no family here in SC, I found a good reputable day care, which was affordable at the time.

We found a driver for the 95 Mack, which worked out good for the time being.

Because of the fast pace and busy schedule we had, we would either go out to eat or buy a lot of frozen microwaved food, or eat what ever we could. I would drink a lot of coffee, soda, tea and milk. Not much water.

Things were fine until the new school year of 98/99. Thats when my son Brian started getting into a lot of trouble. He was in 1st grade at the time.

I will not forget that year because his teacher would send notes home all the time complaining how out of control he was.

A friend of ours who started watching my children, complained a lot about my son Brian, too.

In 1999 things started getting worse for me. The neighbor across the street stopped talking to us and the new neighbor next door became the neighbor from hell. By April of 99 my son Brian got into so much trouble with the school and the babysitter I decided to give him a spanking, but the woman who was supposedly our friend decided she wanted to report me to the authorities for child abuse. Meanwhile, she kept complaining that I needed to spank him, so I finally did. It was my first time and she wants to report me. Isn't that interesting?

By this time I was so upset and stressed out over everything that's been happening that when I was bringing the kids to school, I backed my car into the house.

(This is what I looked like before the 1st attack in April 1999)

Then my left side of my body started going numb. I decided to see a doctor to find out what was happening to me. My left side of my face started going numb. The doctor did other test and said it was the right side of my brain so she set me up for an appointment with a neurologist for the following week. But I never did make it to see him. That was April 15, 1999. I woke up the next morning with a severe migraine headache.

It was so bad I became nauseas. I tried to get up to go to the bathroom but I had no strength to get out of bed.

My husband already left to take the children to school and go to work.

I tried to call him on the two-way radio but I was slurring my words, his driver heard me and told him to call an ambulance. He thought I was having a stroke.

My husband did call an ambulance. Even though he was 15 miles away, he made it home before the ambulance. So as we were leaving the neighborhood to go to the hospital, there was the ambulance coming down the road, so we stopped. The EMT people checked me out. My vital sign's were ok and they said there was nothing they can do for a headache, but for us to proceed to the hospital on our own. So we did.

When we got to the hospital, I asked for a bucket to vomit in since I will be sitting in the emergency room for a while. I was in so much pain. When the doctors finally called me into a room, I asked if there was something they can do for the pain and nauseasness , they did.

The Doctors took me in for x-rays. They tried to get me to stand up, but I couldn't.  They tried to get me to hold on to the bars but my arms couldn't hold me up. I was sliding down. The doctors had me lay on the bed and did a CAT Scan.

When the results came back they shipped me off to MUSC of SC.

I had a lot of lesions on my brain. They thought it could be brain cancer. The Doctors at the Medical University of South Carolina did a biopsy on my brain to see if it was cancer it came back negative.  (THANK GOD) But the whole left side of my body was paralyzed. It took me years to get things back except my left fingers and wrist. I'm still working on that.

The doctors never diagnosed me back then. They couldn't tell me why this was happening to me. They ruled out brain cancer and when they did a spinal tap on me to see if it was MS, it come back negative too.

They were dumb-founded but they wanted me to take MS medication. The doctors gave me a video to watch when I went home and so I did. The side effects are worse than the disease.

When I went back for my weekly check up, I said no thanks.

As time went on things started slowly coming back. I was still on antidepressants, which were blowing me up. I was not eating that much but I was still gaining weight. I was always drinking coffee. I started using splenda instead of sugar thinking that it will help me lose weight. I was doing a little exercise but still getting larger. I did"t have any idea about nutrition.

Because of my illness we lost our dump trucks.

At the end of May 2004 I started feeling weird. My coordination was starting to go off. I new there was something going wrong.

I went and had another MRI done. To have a comparison from 1999 to 2004. I started looking for a Neurologist in the phone book. I found one but he was so booked they ended up slipping me in at the end of June. By the time I went to see the neurologist I started having a hard time walking. I had to hold on to my husband as a cane.

The Doctor compared the 2004 MRI to 1999 and read the hospital records and confirmed that I have MS.

The Doctor wanted me to take the medication; I asked how much is the medication? He said. "$1500 a month."

I said, "boy that's some really expensive pills." He said, "it's not a pill, it's shots." I said, "no way. First off, I can't afford $1500 a month; and second, I don't like needles and I refuse to shoot myself up."

He was very upset with me and said good luck with your life. There's nothing I can do for you.

At that time I had a very hard time walking, my husband was my cane. We left and my husband carried me to the car.

On our way home we stopped at the bank were a couple of women I knew worked. The one woman named Annette Harris who cut my hair the day before, asked me what were the diagnoses. I told her the doctor said MS and the other teller named Wendy Jorden said, "You see that man behind you? He is a doctor. He can help you."

My husband, the smart mouth, turned around and said, "who, surfer dude? Whats he going to do for my wife?" (The young fellow was wearing a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip-flops) Wendy said that he is a chiropractor. My husband said "whats chiropractic care going to do for my wife, she has MS?"

At this time I was loosing my comprehension. He started explaining to me the procedure. I said I can't understand you so please explain it to my husband and so he did.

(I believe GOD was watching over me that day)

My husband wanted me to get the steroid treatment done, (that the neurologist suggested) so I called the hospital that I have an account with. (We have no insurance)

They said since I haven't been there in a while I would have to come into emergency. Well that's a 2 and 1/2 hour ride and then sit in emergency room for a couple of hours. I said no thanks. Then my husband said I needed to call the neurologist back to see what hospital he wanted me to go to. So I did, and I was told he just left on a 2-week vacation.  (That's when I knew for sure GOD was watching over me)

I said to my husband I'm going to see the Chiropractor. The Chiropractor's name is Dr. Dryer Scott. He took my x-rays and showed me how bad my spine was.

When I started to see him I could not hear because the ringing in my ears was so loud.

My head would hurt so badly because of the weight of my hair pulling on the cut, from when I had the biopsy.

I could not comprehend anything anybody said. It was like you were talking a foreign language to me.

My coordination was off, I could not walk.

After a few weeks of seeing Dr. Scott, the ringing in my ears went away and my head stopped hurting from my hair. (Even though my hair was short my head was very sensitive)

I lost my eyesight for a couple of months and then it came back. My coordination was off but not as bad from when I first started going to Dr. Scott.

Within a few months I was off all my medication.

But one day at the end of October, I woke up and my feet where cold and tingly. So when I went to see Dr. Scott, I asked why my feet were cold and tingly and he said don't worry that's the MS coming out through my feet.

After a week or two it started moving up to my knee's, then my hips and up to my ribs.

I asked the Dr Scott what was happening it's moving up my body not out of my body.  He said he had know idea what was happening to me.

At the end of November 2004, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, my husband just started going back to work. (He stayed home from work for six months to take care of me)

I told him to go ahead back to work because we were so behind on our bills. (We ended up losing our dump trucks because of my first attack and not getting any better) Well that afternoon my arms started feeling weird so I figured I go lay down and a few hours I would get up and be ok.

(This is what I looked like before second attack November - December 2004)

4 days later I woke up in ICU at the Medical University of South Carolina. (My brain swelled up so much it put pressure against the motor skill section of my brain, which put me in a coma state for 4 days) The doctors were giving me steroids to bring down the swelling.

When I woke up, my husband was at my side. I asked where am I. He said, at MUSC." I said" I want to go home. "He said"  it was up to the doctors to let me go. "I said"  No I want to go home. So when the nurses would change their shift they would kick my husband out of the room.

When they all left and I was the only one left in the room, I figured I was going to leave too. (I did not want to be their ginny pig like I was in 1999) Well I climbed out of bed; I fell to the floor and hit my head on the sink. The nurse came in and seen me sitting on the toilet bowl. (ICU is a small room with a toilet, sink, and a bed, where they supposed to keep an eye on you at all times) She flipped out because I was bleeding from my head. I said  to her that I wanted to go home. She bandaged my head up and had a doctor come in to look at my head. I said to him I wanted to go home. He just turned around and walked away. The nurse strapped me to the bed and took me in for more x-rays. When I got back to the room they refused to unstrap my arms from the bed.

The next day another doctor came in and "I said" I want to go home. The doctor said he can't discharge me unless I take the MS medication. I refused. My husband told him to let me go home, and that I wanted to go the natural route and to give me six months, if I don't get healthy in that time that I would be back to take his medication. He gave in and discharged me from ICU.

That was a Thursday evening Dr. Scott didn't open back up till Monday morning. Monday came we seen Dr. Scott and I explained to him what happened and then I started to cry because I lost 4 days of my life. (I don't remember anything) He told me not to think about it and to move ahead.

I decided no more self-pity I was going to get myself healthy. The next day I believed GOD was watching over me because I was watching TV and as I flipped through the channels I caught and infomercial of Kevin Trudeau talking about his book NATURAL CURES  THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT  UPDATED EDITION so I bought the book, and started reading it. Kevin talked a lot about why we are sick, by taking over the counter and pharmaceutical drugs ,and the poisons that are being put in our food supply that are slowly killing us and to throw out any and all conventional food.

So I threw out everything in my cupboards and all the conventional food in my refrigerator.

He talks about the pharmaceutical drugs and over the counter drugs he said that all drugs have negative side affects.

So I went into my medicine cabinet and threw out all my pharmaceutical and over the counter drugs like Aleve, Tylenol, and Bayer Aspirin. He talks about the microwave and how bad it is for us so I threw that out too. Anything that I thought could have caused my illness I got rid of.

He said to go on to his web site for $9.95 a month www.naturalcures.com if I want to email one of his doctors. So I did, and I even became a lifetime member, which cost over $500.00. To learn everything I know today, cost me thousands of dollars. I'm a far cry from being rich all our money went to hospital bills and doctor bills. I didn't have health insurance so I got hammered hard. To get healthy I borrowed money and now I'm paying it  back.

I emailed all 3 of Kevin's Doctors and only 1 emailed me back and that was Dr. Hohn.

I asked how do you reverse MS? "I want my life back, please help"

"To find out what he said go to the solutions link and click Dr. Hohn."

I did everthing Dr Hohn suggested that was February 2005 and June 2005 the MS was gone. All the people that knew me were shocked on how fast I recovered.

In January 2006 I decided to become a Nutritional Consultant through the Global Colledge of Natural Medicine. (Which I'm now a Certified Nutritional Consultant)

That where I read about this family that had alot of health problems and they decided to go raw. I was so fasinated with them I decided to buy their books and videos. The site is www.rawfamily.com. Then I started making green smoothies and going raw. ( which was not a problem since I still eat the food from Wholefood Farmacy. (which is mostly raw)

Then in April 2007 Wholefood Farmacy read my testimonial on how I reversed MS by using their products that they sent someone from the company out to interview me and put me on their web site (but that didn't happen, no big deal) and at the same time a couple of editors from Natural Awakenings listened to the interview and wrote a story on me. It came out in May 2007. Its called Saving A life with Living Foods. I Got a few phone call on what I did and how I did it. I've gotten one perticular call on the product so I went to meet this women she ended up  getting me involve with her product called Xango. She is a really good saleswomen. I got caught up into Xango that I put my dreams on hold. November 19 2007 my step father died thats when I realized I needed to go back to my dreams and not someone elses.

My health is my wealth and my wealth is my health.

My mom is real sick too. I'm trying to get her into doing what I do but she is not interested. Hopefully she will come around and I can help her get healthy.
